App Terms of Service

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Teal Meal LLC, the owner and operator of the Teal Meal mobile application (“Teal Meal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).


  1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, checking an acknowledgment box, tapping “Continue,” accessing, or using Teal Meal, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms or notices presented to you in the app. If you do not agree, you may not access or use Teal Meal. We may require you to review and re-acknowledge updated terms, policies, or disclaimers before


  1. Eligibility and Caregiver Authority

Teal Meal is intended for use by adults who are parents, legal guardians, or other caregivers authorized to make or assist with feeding decisions for an infant or young child.

You may use Teal Meal only if you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. Teal Meal is not intended for direct use by children, and children may not create accounts.

By creating or managing a child profile, you represent and warrant that: (1) you are the child’s parent, legal guardian, or an authorized caregiver; (2) you have authority to provide information about the child and use Teal Meal in connection with the child’s feeding; (3) the information you provide about the child is accurate to the best of your knowledge; and (4) your use of Teal Meal does not violate any duty, restriction, court order, custody arrangement, or applicable law.


  1. Account Registration and Security

You may need to create an account to use some or all Teal Meal features. Depending on the sign-in method you select, you may create an account using an email address and password or through an available third-party sign-in provider, such as Apple or Google.

You agree to (1) provide accurate, current, and complete account information; (2) keep your account and profile information updated; (3) maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials; (4) not permit unauthorized persons to use your account; and

(5) notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization or your credentials have been compromised.

You are responsible for activity conducted through your account to the extent permitted by applicable law.


  1. Description of Teal Meal

Teal Meal is an educational mobile application designed to help parents, legal guardians, and authorized caregivers organize child feeding information and receive AI-supported educational information relating to solid food introduction and feeding.

Teal Meal may include:

1. individual profiles for one or more children;

2. photo-based and text-based food review;

3. apparent age-appropriateness ratings;

4. potential allergen flags;

5. food preparation and serving suggestions;

6. estimated nutrient information and daily nutrient goals;

7. food logs and calendar views;

8. an AI-supported chat feature;

9. parent-entered notes and observations;

10. user-initiated email export of food logs;

11. Teal Meal Plate or portion-related preferences;

12. free and paid subscription features; and

13. account-management and account-deletion tools.

Teal Meal is offered for use in the United States. It is an educational reference tool and is not a healthcare provider, medical device, diagnostic tool, treatment tool, emergency service, allergy safety tool, or nutrition therapy product.


  1. Educational use only

Teal Meal provides educational information only. Teal Meal does not provide medical advice allergy advice, nutrition therapy, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, emergency guidance, or professional healthcare services. Teal Meal does not create a provider-patient relationship and should not be used as a substitute for advice from your child’s pediatrician, allergist, registered dietitian, emergency provider, or other qualified healthcare professional. Always consult an appropriate qualified professional for questions about feeding, allergies, nutrition, choking, developmental readiness, medical conditions, or health-related concerns involving your child. 

  1. AI-generated content

Certain Teal Meal features use artificial intelligence to generate outputs, including food identification, apparent age appropriateness ratings, allergen flags, preparation suggestions, nutrient estimates, and chat responses. These outputs are generated based on the information available to the app, including photos, food descriptions, child profile information, known allergies, height and weight if entered, portion or plate preference if applicable, and other user-provided inputs.

AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, misleading, or inappropriate for your child’s specific circumstances. AI outputs may be affected by poor photo quality, incomplete or inaccurate descriptions, incorrect child profile information, hidden ingredients, ingredient substitutions, mixed foods, cultural or homemade foods, cross-contamination, food labels that are not visible, preparation conditions, texture, temperature, portion size, and your child’s individual development or health needs.

You should not rely on Teal Meal or any AI output as your sole source of information for feeding, allergy, nutrition, choking, developmental, or health-related decisions.


  1. AI Chat

AI chat provides automated educational responses and may generate incorrect, incomplete, outdated, or unsupported information. Responses are not reviewed by a healthcare professional before being displayed and may not account for your child’s complete medical history, development, allergies, or nutritional needs.

Do not use AI chat to assess symptoms, diagnose a reaction, determine whether emergency care is needed, or obtain individualized medical, allergy, nutrition, choking, or developmental advice.


  1. Allergy warnings

Allergen flags and allergy related outputs are educational aids, not guarantees. Teal Meal cannot determine whether a food is safe for a child with a known or suspected allergy.

The app may not detect hidden ingredients, substitutions, cross-contact, cross-contamination, restaurant or manufacturing practices, label warnings, or ingredients omitted from a photo or description.

Always review labels, ingredients, preparation methods, and serving conditions. Consult your child’s pediatrician or allergist when appropriate and follow any allergy action plan provided by a qualified professional.


  1. Allergy and Feeding Limitations

The app's allergen detection is a helpful tool but cannot guarantee detection of all allergens, hidden ingredients, or cross-contamination risks. If your child has known food allergies, always read ingredient labels carefully and consult your pediatrician or allergist before introducing new foods. In a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.

Teal Meal does not guarantee allergy prevention, avoidance of reactions, choking prevention, developmental readiness, nutritional adequacy, or any particular feeding or health outcome.


  1. Supervision

You agree to always supervise your child during meals. Choking is a serious risk for infants and young children. The app cannot replace active parental supervision. Learn infant CPR and know what to do in a choking emergency.

  1. No Emergency Use

Teal Meal is not designed or intended for emergency use. If your child may be choking, having an allergic reaction, experiencing breathing difficulty, swelling, hives, repeated vomiting, lethargy, loss of consciousness, or another urgent symptom, call 911 or seek emergency medical care immediately. Do not delay professional or emergency care based on anything displayed in Teal Meal or generated through AI chat.


  1. Reliance and Assumption of Risk

Teal Meal is an educational aid only. You remain solely responsible for all feeding decisions involving your child.

No food, ingredient, portion, preparation method, allergen flag, nutrient estimate, recommendation, or chat response is guaranteed to be safe, allergy-free, nutritionally adequate, medically appropriate, developmentally appropriate, or suitable for your child.

To the extent permitted by law, you assume responsibility for your use of the app and decisions made using its information.


  1. User Content

“User Content” includes child-profile information, allergies, food photos and descriptions, portion information, notes, reaction observations, food logs, chat prompts, profile photos, and other information you provide through Teal Meal.

You represent that you have authority to provide your User Content and that it does not violate applicable law or another person’s rights.


  1. License to User Content

You retain ownership of your User Content.

You grant Teal Meal a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process, transmit, store where applicable, reproduce, and display User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and support the app; provide requested features; work with service providers; and comply with legal obligations.

This license does not authorize us to sell child-profile, allergy, food-log, photo, or chat information or use it for targeted advertising.


  1. Accuracy of Information

Teal Meal’s outputs depend on the information you provide. Inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unclear information may produce inaccurate or inappropriate results.

You are responsible for maintaining accurate child age, allergy, food, portion, profile, and related information.


  1. License to Use Teal Meal

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to use Teal Meal for personal, non-commercial caregiver use.

No ownership rights are transferred to you.


  1. Intellectual Property

Teal Meal and its licensors own the app and its software, designs, branding, trademarks, text, graphics, prompts, workflows, databases, educational content, preparation guides, features, and documentation, excluding User Content and third-party materials.

No rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms.


  1. Restrictions on Use

You may not: (1) copy, modify, sell, sublicense, or create unauthorized derivative works from Teal Meal; (2) reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract source code, prompts, or non-public data; (3) interfere with app security, availability, or operation; (4) bypass subscription, usage, or technical restrictions; (5) use Teal Meal unlawfully, fraudulently, or abusively; (6) use Teal Meal as a clinical, diagnostic, emergency, or professional healthcare tool; (7) provide professional services through Teal Meal without authorization; or (8) submit information about a child without appropriate authority.


  1. Data and privacy

A separate Privacy Policy explains exactly what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. See the Privacy Policy from the Settings menu or during sign-up.

  1. Third Party Services

Teal Meal relies on third parties for functions such as authentication, AI processing, app distribution, social sign-in, subscription management, and billing. Providers may include Supabase, Anthropic, Apple, Google, and RevenueCat or another subscription provider.

Third-party services are subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for their independent acts, omissions, outages, or practices, except as required by law.

We may change providers as the app develops. Material changes to personal-information processing will be addressed through our Privacy Policy and applicable notices.


  1. Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your device account settings.

  1. Changes to Plans, Features, and Pricing

We may modify plan names, features, limits, or availability. Price changes to active subscriptions will be implemented through the applicable app store and subject to required notices, consent procedures, and applicable law.


  1. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Teal Meal and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, service providers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, use, goodwill, or revenue, arising from (1) use of or inability to use Teal Meal; (2) reliance on an AI-supported output; (3) loss or corruption of locally stored data; (4) third-party services; or (5) unauthorized account access.

Our total aggregate liability arising from these Terms or the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Teal Meal during the preceding 12 months or $100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited.


  1. Disclaimers of Warranties

TEAL MEAL IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all express, implied, and statutory warranties, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, security, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We do not warrant that any AI output, food identification, rating, allergen flag, nutrient estimate, chat response, or preparation suggestion will be accurate, complete, current, safe, allergy-free, nutritionally adequate, medically appropriate, or suitable for any child.

Some exclusions may not apply in jurisdictions that do not permit them.


  1. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Teal Meal and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, service providers, and licensors from claims, losses, costs, liabilities, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from (1) your User Content; (2) unauthorized submission of information about a child; (3) your material breach of these Terms; (4) misuse of Teal Meal; (5) violation of law; or (6) violation of another person’s rights.

We may control the defense and settlement of any covered claim. You may not settle a claim in a manner that admits wrongdoing by or imposes obligations on Teal Meal without our written consent.


  1. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have materially violated these Terms, misused the app, created a security or legal risk, bypassed technical or subscription controls, failed to pay applicable fees, or used the app in a manner that could harm a child, user, Teal Meal, or third party.

You may stop using the app or request account deletion at any time. Account deletion does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription.

Upon termination, your license ends. Provisions that should reasonably survive termination will remain effective.


  1. Updates to the App and Terms

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any feature.

We may also update these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or app disclaimers. For material changes, we may provide in-app notice and require affirmative acceptance before continued use.

If you do not agree to updated terms, you must stop using Teal Meal and may request account deletion.


  1. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

This section does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections that apply in your state of residence.


  1. Informal Dispute Resolution and Venue

Before filing a legal action, each party agrees to provide written notice describing the dispute and requested relief and to attempt in good faith to resolve it for at least 30 days.

Notices to Teal Meal must be sent to support@tealmeal.com and 110 Gingko Ln., Chester Springs, PA 19425.


  1. Miscellaneous

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any additional app terms constitute the entire agreement regarding Teal Meal.

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will remain effective.

Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale, change of control, or operation of law.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

Notices may be provided electronically through the app, by email, or using the contact information associated with your account.

  1. Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
